Ive been fortunate to have seen Bridled Tern on 3 occasion in #Northumberland, 1988, 89 and 24, and one Sooty Tern in 2020. Others have had even more!
Oh not its not, its Sooty! On Coquet Island...here's one from my local patch July 2020. We have a great record in #Northumberland for these two tropical terns

Anyone use the Chris Manley guide 2nd ed? I've just noticed this error. The image labelled Mompha ochraceella is actually M.epilobiella. A real ochraceella is on the right. #teammoth

Size of 140 football fields now Hundreds evacuated. Large areas of heathland habitat destroyed. Dartford Warblers, Woodlark, Nightjars etc. News reporter described Nightjars flying over the area. Climate change is rapidly outpacing conservation. It will only get worse. 🤷♂️🙄 #ukbirding

Met WEO a couple of times. The first time when I was extracting a bird from a mist net at Hauxley Ringing Station, I 'felt' that I was being watched and looked over my shoulder to see Bill standing there. We exchanged a few pleasantries about what was around and off he went birding.. 1/2 #billoddie
I think the top one looks like it fits Ling Pug? Features - Greyish compared to WW below. Darker shadow along outer edge. Distal Line is solid rather than a row of dots. No black bar on abdomen. Unless its something different altogether? Any ideas please? #teammoth #Northumberland
