She/her. Gamer, reading, pretty boring but occasionally witty (at least in my own brain).

Accepting the 1936 nomination, FDR made a speech the language of which Zohran Mamdani mirrored last night: “These economic royalists complain that we seek to overthrow the institutions of America. What they really complain of is that we seek to take away their power.“ This is Democratic language.

"These economic royalists complain that we seek to overthrow the institutions of America," Roosevelt thundered. "What they really complain of is that we seek to take away their power. Our allegiance to American institutions requires the overthrow of this kind of power. In vain they seek to hide behind the flag and the Constitution. In their blindness they forget what the flag and Constitution stand for. Now, as always, they stand for democracy, not tyranny; for freedom, not subjugation; and against dictatorship by mob rule and the over-privileged alike."

Daylight Saving Time is increasingly hard to notice when my digital devices are like, "What? Nothing happened. We know what time it is." And my stove is left blinking and screaming, "IT HAPPENED! TIME SHIFTED UNNATURALLY! THEY'RE ALL LYING! ONLY I KNOW! ONLY I REMEMBER!"

Huh. I just got a notification that I need age verification for certain services on Bluesky, including direct messaging and adult content, in my area - but I'm pretty sure Maryland hasn't required anything of the sort, and I'm not currently using a VPN. Anyone know what's up with that crap?
