Pencoed Trailblazers cleared 180m of an old right of way yesterday with 22 volunteers. A proper mix of people turning up, mucking in, and bringing a forgotten path back to life. Small job, real impact. #Pencoed #PencoedTrailblazers #CommunityAction #Volunteering #WalesOutdoors #RightOfWay
Footpath 5 needs freeing! It’s overgrown, blocked and begging for escape. Join Trailblazers on Sat 20 June, 10–12pm to help clear the old route to the dingle + brickworks. No kit, no pressure — just fresh air, friendly faces and a forgotten path to rescue.

Abercastle carries the spirit of a lone sailor. In 1876, Alfred ‘Centennial’ Johnson crossed the Atlantic in a tiny open dory and slipped quietly into this harbour after 66 days alone at sea. A small place with a giant story. #Wales #Pembrokeshire #History #Abercastle #Cymru #Hanes #SirPenfro.
Pencoed Trailblazers - 18 volunteers. 40m of footpath reopened. Half a tonne of rubbish cleared. History uncovered, community buzzing. “The real win was everyone coming together.”
Out exploring the Vale of Glamorgan today and got the drone up between two favourites: one with walled gardens from a long‑vanished estate, and another Norman castle built to guard a river crossing. History did most of the work — the drone was just a bonus. Any guesses where I ended up wandering?

Puffins have started to return to Skomer, but they'll be coming and going over the next few weeks. You'll be able to reliably see Puffins from the end of April, once they've laid an egg and have a reason to return to the island every day. 📸 Amy Compton
