Out exploring the Vale of Glamorgan today and got the drone up between two favourites: one with walled gardens from a long‑vanished estate, and another Norman castle built to guard a river crossing. History did most of the work — the drone was just a bonus. Any guesses where I ended up wandering?

St Elidyr’s church, Amroth. Parts of this now-closed church probably date from the 13th century. The site was in religious use before then. One of several in Pembrokeshire dedicated to Elidyr, thought to be the same person as St Teilo who lived in the 6th century. #photo #church

The 13 mile Tywi Valley pedestrian and cycle path from Carmarthen to Llandeilo is now fully open. Wonderful views of the river, valley scenery, Dryslwyn and Dinefwr castles. Lots of people out enjoying yesterday- well done Cyngor Sir Gar! #Stunday
