The weirdest thing about elections in NZ isn’t the level of political corruption, it’s how everyone thinks there isn’t any. If you regulated election spending the entire right wing of NZ politics would evaporate overnight.

From what I've seen of FSU's communications to their members and supporters, they are tilting at windmills. They imagine an intention and operation that simply isn't real. Franks and Douglas Brown have publicly described aspects of the organisation, and what it does, that are totally fictional.

"Who care what the government thinks or does?" is a WILD take for the Prime Minister to be giving businesses. I guess he would prefer that we don't pay taxes, obey laws, and engage with regulators?

The business leaders, the political leaders, and the community leaders working together, doing things differently. I set up the operating system. You go out there and smack it and go create the road, and the community leaders see the pain, the hurt, the need, and the frustration, and the three actors do different things but complementary things to deal with the challenges and the opportunities.

I’d love to know what people outside the industry think “data centre” actually means, because no one I know expects them to contain any jobs at all. As someone who has built several: any employee is a design flaw.

Update: Google just sent me a statement saying it is “rolling back” this AI feature that let anyone make completely bullshit satellite images. Comes after our demos of the tool and those from OSINT researchers. One of the worst AI tools I’ve ever seen bsky.app/profile/jose...

New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
