how do you all stay on track with learning something you kinda suck at? motivational words are nice but not that helpful when you get into the weeds of trying to practice something

every time i consider posting nosc to twitter, i see something on twitter that makes me regret ever posting anything there to begin with. something deeply evil about that site

honestly guys it's been so unbearably hot in my house the past few days that i haven't really been able to get much work done at all. it's supposed to cool down a tiny bit next week and i'm hoping i can catch up then

i feel kinda bad when i take especially long on one person's commission, because i worry that they might think i hate their character or something for the record, the opposite tends to be true. sometimes i take extra long because i really want to do a character/idea justice

i'm realizing now that i've often struggled to get into beat em ups because most of them don't have a particularly compelling aesthetic. streets of rage 2 is a great game but the "vibe" is boring to me we need like, cute em up styled beat em ups. cotton except you're beating the shit out of dudes

this is frankly still the overall dominant anglosphere view of anime to this day outside of battle shounen stuff and ghibli films, even. do not ask any gen x'er / older millennial who isnt part of the scene what they think of anime worst mistake of ur life

Good Haro@goodharo.bsky.social · last wk.

You either weren’t alive in the 90s-00s or weren’t interacting with normal people in a way that tipped them off to your interest in anime if you sincerely think there was never any negative sentiment toward it in the US at the time. The image of all anime as degenerate pornography was very pervasive

the saturn is so awesome you got the best shmups fighters and rpgs of that decade all on one box and then every platformer is called "Grankankulo's Gambit" and it's pre-rendered CGI sprites on 3D untextured box platforms and runs at 15 fps

i hope that someday, whenever i'm trying to drift to sleep, my mind can fill itself with nothing but good memories. i wish i had enough good memories to spare
