Happy to see that my story I Saw E.T. Lying All Fucked Up in That Creek in 1982 and Left Him There, appearing in @maudlinhouse.bsky.social, made Wigleaf's longlist. Putting this list together seems like a ton of work. Thank you!
Clang the bells! The @wigleaf.bsky.social Long List and Top 50 list is up www.wigleaf.com.🎈 Special thanks to Guest Selecting Editor, @andrewporter01.bsky.social. Gratitude also to our team who spent countless hours reading. And big 🙏 to Scott Garson without whom this list wouldn't exist! 🌷🌷
Highly recommended video for my fellow writers. Some great insights on storytelling through the lens (haha!) of cinema. Also, just in general, if you enjoy film, and I know some of you most definitely enjoy film, you should check out both of Tom's channels. So so good.
New video! Christopher Nolan always ends his movies on a high note. But as simple as his approach may sometimes appear - just some montage editing, a closing monologue, and a bombastic score - the actual formula is a bit more intricate: youtu.be/0zyxsj8VseU

Disney has picked up the movie rights or whatever for this. Lawyers are hashing it all out to make sure everyone keeps everyone's greedy paws off! To make sure everyone is fed full of bacon. Business! Marketable assets!

Thank you @hexliterary.bsky.social. You all are a delight and I appreciate you. This one is for all the Epcotheads out there. And for all the Regularheads out there. And if you can read 999 words many of which are repeated multiple times this is for you. It's for the others as well!

All my text messages with my wife are just us asking each other when do you want to eat.
Yes! Make your art the only way you are able to make it because you are the only one who can make it that way. The rest is the rest.
A handful of my fave stories I've read online in the last few months are stories I declined as submissions, and maybe they really leveled up in revisions, but also... art is so subjective, by audience, but also time and circumstance and any number of factors. It's part of what's so great about it.

Just saying hi. Hi. Stay good, friends. Stay good friends. Later.
Just reread this - one of the funniest stories I stumbled across last year. Feel duty bound to share!
I have another new story today, this one is in Maudlin House and, well, just give it a read please!
I read Come Eat At O'Houlihan's Because Of What We Have by Dan Weaver in @burialmagazine.bsky.social in which we learn why we should go eat at O'Houlihan's (it's because of what they have) nightofthehats.blogspot.com/2026/01/i-re...

It's becoming increasingly clear to me that the most important, political, & revolutionary thing any of us can do in 2026 is retaking control of our own brains. Which, to me, means: unplugging from the algorithm as much as possible. Instead: read books, go to a museum, think for yourself, be still.
I have a new story in one of the very best mags on earth @hexliterary.bsky.social. This is for the 90s kids and recovering addicts and everyone else. Love you.

All your notes must have a title. If there is one that is untitled that is not allowed. There was a loophole that some in the past had exploited by having the title of their note be “Untitled” or “untitled”. This loophole has been closed.
