Hyalophane (below) is a barium rich feldspar. I learned today it is a variety of microcline and not its own species. Also learned that labradorite isnt its own species either anymore and is a variery of anorthite. The IMA needs to calm down with changing all these feldspar taxonomies

A small, calm-blue fluorite today. I really like this specimen because it’s been treated: a green fluorite that’s been irradiated to give it this gorgeous blue hue, as evidenced by the quartz that has turned black. This specimen comes from China. #mineral #crystal #macrophoto #focusstacking
