ANTS 2026 ist starting in a week. Although I won't be there in person, I'm happy to be a part of it through our contribution "On the Cost of Evolving Task Specialization in Multi-Robot Systems" together with Paolo Lepoardi, @swarmdynamics.bsky.social and @jonaskuresearch.bsky.social
📢 The technical programme for ANTS 2026 is now available online. We’re looking forward to welcoming researchers and practitioners to Darmstadt this June for what promises to be an exciting programme. You can explore the technical programme here: ants2026.org
The SonoRo robot platform in action at #ANTS2026. Individual robots find/repel each other and show flocking using only their acoustic beacons. This is much like many animal/insect groups. Here we show even simple rules and coarse sensory capabilities give rise to collective behaviour. 1/N
📢 ANTS 2026 deadline extended to 20 Nov 2025! No further extensions will be granted. If you haven’t submitted yet, there’s still time to share your latest work with the swarm intelligence community. We look forward to seeing your contributions!
New study from #UniKonstanz @cbehav.bsky.social and @mpi-animalbehav.bsky.social shows: animal swarms don’t need to follow fixed rules; their coordination emerges from brain dynamics. Flexible “ring attractor” networks create complexity from simplicity: https://t1p.de/4c6cd @icouzin.bsky.social
