Whenever one door shuts, another one shuts but even harder. Just a never ending crescendo of doors slamming shut louder and louder

Hello. We're currently working on the next entry in The Zium series, and it's going very well. Perhaps we will start showing some work-in-progress glimpses occasionally. Here is one from our new gallery overworld, designed and art directed by the wickedly talented @jpotterfield.bsky.social
I have a new website for my art, which is to say I have a website now: www.potterfield.art I've got some time coming up for part-time work. If you've got a project big or small, which needs environment art: 3D or visual development
Made the terrible mistake of getting into morrowind mods. Unless you've played morrowind with HDR and god rays and LUTs and 8k textures have you really even played it?
The Zium Digest Oratorio's electrical counterpart - The Tape Player (sound on). It was totally overkill for this project but I rigged this thing up as a puppet so you can control the individual animations using your keyboard, as I'm doing in this video.

Some face time with the Zium Digest Oratorio, a character I designed and modelled recently. I hadn't made a funny little guy in years, and it felt good to flex that muscle again after all that time

There comes a time in every 3D artist's life where they must make a fence using Geometry Nodes in Blender. That time in my life has finally come

Blender folks: any idea why, if I switch to Vertex Paint mode from some workspaces (like Sculpting), in the header I'm able to see the vertex painting settings (primary/secondary colors, blending mode, etc), but if I switch to it from other workspace (like Layout) I am not?
For the past several months I have been working on without a doubt the most complicated art thing I've ever worked on, and I'm very excited to share the full thing with the world very soon.
I've been wrestling with a mysterious blender bug for months now where the UV layers of meshes generated w/ Geometry Nodes get reordered when exporting as FBX (for unity). Finally found a bug report filed 2 years ago - and the blender devs argue it's not a bug! projects.blender.org/blender/blen...

It has recently come to my attention that if you've got a custom shadergraph (in Unity w/ URP) and you set the ambient occlusion to 0, materials that use said shader will render completely black when you bake your lightmaps, even you you have "ambient occlusion" unchecked in your lighting settings
