Outsider lost in randomness.

Blackthorn is uniquely suited for spirit traps due to its mythological association. It's often referred to as the "Dark Mother of the Woods" and is heavily tied to the Crone archetype. It represents winter, and death, and acts as both a bridge or barrier to the spirit realm. #FolkWitchFriday

THE DEATH COACH or Cóiste Bodhar is said to appear after the attack of a BANSHEE. The coach drawn by black horses is driven by a vampiric fairy spirit who collects the soul of the victim without making a sound. Wentz, Fairy Folk in Celtic Countries, 1911

Utrera. S. XVI.

#MythologyMonday Accessible only by boat or by navigating a secret maze, Ynys Afallon [Avalon] is an island of sanctuary in Welsh folklore. Here - surrounded by enchanted birdsong - wounds, both physical & spiritual [such as those of King Arthur] are healed. 🎨Puimun * Kimsol * Edward Burne-Jones

Iði is a jotunn who is the uncle of the much more well known Skadi, the goddess of bowhunting, skiing, winter & mountains in Norse mythology. He's a son of Alvaldi alongside Gangr & Þjazi. When Alvaldi died, each brother got their inheritance portion by claiming one mouthful of gold each.

Skadi stands on a snowy mountain range surrounded by 3 white wolves with blue eyes. She has pale skin, long white hair in a braid, wearing a brown shirt & trousers & a gray cloak with a white fur mantle & she has a bow nocked.
