Hank Green should not use LLMs in his work. Working scientists have specific use cases for LLMs, but science communicators like Hank and I do not. They add more vulnerability than value in our field. I laid out some history and background to walk you through the reasons why.

I contacted a journal in my field when I found "myself" cited with a fictional work in their journal. They replied that it was not editor's responsibility to call the author out on that, and I should contact the authors directly. And, as a journal editor, I call that BS.
