Since people seem interested, I've coded a version of this that yields better results, is more optimized, and allows you to customize the texture of the noise. It's free, and forever will be free. Enjoy! chaoclypse.itch.io/xerox-hell
I coded a web app that xerox's your images for fun! Just drag an image in and play with the dials. If nothing shows up (or it's all black) you may want to play with the threshold (first slider). Press "S" to save the image! editor.p5js.org/Chaoclypse/f...
I just used Bits and Mortar for the first time to get a PDF version of Cluster Truck, to go with the physical copy I bought from Game Nerdz. If you haven't asked your FLGS about Bits and Mortar, you should! So many publishers support it, and it doesn't cost stores anything! bits-and-mortar.com
"In Santa Cruz County, on average, a worker needs to make $81.04 an hour to access modest housing...nearly double the average hourly wage in California...It’s also nearly five times the amount that someone making minimum wage, which is $16.90 an hour in Santa Cruz County, can afford."

Just woke up from a nap after a morning of manual labor outside, pruning trees. Kinda nice way to spend a summer Saturday.
If you like HBO's Rome and Game of Thrones, you should watch (and/or read) I, Claudius.
Next month will be 50 years of I, Claudius, one of the greatest TV series Currently on BBC4 and iPlayer, huge fun, gripping drama, extremely funny and even more horrible Need another reason to start? Born OTD 10 BCE, the actual: I, Tiberius Claudius Drusus Nero Germanicus, This, That and the Other…
Everyone's comparing Nolan's Odyssey to Homer, but I think there's much more richness The ancient Greeks adapted the Odyssey into ART While these images might appear static to us, I want to walk through how an ancient Greek saw art: AS DYNAMIC STORYTELLING like our films 1/13
Dare I join this time?
Making my day, @autocratik.bsky.social joined me for the introduction and explanation of the prompts for #RPGaDAY2026 This annual, global, multilingual #ttrpg event kicks off on Saturday and we hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are~ youtu.be/JTFIMV3GQfw
C'mon people. I sweat about accidentally putting the wrong release dates on my lecture slides with movie clips. A 100% real quote: "Oh, sorry gang, I know that says 1919, but Defending Your Life came out in 1991."
You should be able to block specific shows on streaming platforms.
‘Anthropic described the project as “our effort to disruptively scan all the world’s books” in an internal memo, which noted “we do not want it to be known that we are pursuing this project”.’

Great news: the talks from Jubensha Con are now available online for FREE! Big thanks to our amazing speakers for agreeing to this, and to Joe Strickland at @chronicinsanity.bsky.social for producing the videos. A lot of much bigger and more expensive conferences don't do this – but we just did.

The DoubleFine layoffs hit me hard. They've survived the worst ups & downs of this industry for my entire career, somehow always hanging on & continuing to make their weird, fun little games. Their current precarity hits hard. The games industry has been gutted. The AAA space is unrecognizable to me
“That is Equifax,” said Gandalf. “He is the risk assessor of the Mearas, credit monitor of horses.”
Saw this at the DeYoung today. Love every bit of this. Art by Rose B. Simpson. Installation name: Lexicon.
This is clearly the result of a Keeper having to improvise brooding dialogue, panicking, and having a moment of pure genius.
Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%

Last Saturday, my local (Indonesian) TTRPG community had its third convention! 40 Players, 8 Game Masters, and 8 Tables. We also had a consignment table, showcasing 9 community creators! We had such diverse participants! This hobby belong to people of different backgrounds and genders! (1/3)

I had seen that Signs shot dozens of times in dailies at ILM (with two different versions of the alien), and when I saw it in context, at a crew screening, it still scared the crap out of me.

Got me thinking.. What's the strongest reaction you've seen an audience member have to a scene in a cinema? During the birthday party scene in SIGNS I saw a whole row of young women literally throw their popcorn in the air like a cartoon.
Yes to this! @analoggamestudies.bsky.social is one of the best resource on tabletop games, and they organize one of the best conferences in the field, "Generation Analog", which consistently features presentation of great depth and quality.
