There are senior figures in British media and politics - quite high in politics, in fact, to put it mildly - who are known, by the same hacks who hounded Jason Arday to his death, to have done things much much worse than what he did. The hacks protect those people.

More hunting through old Compile game manuals, and the manual for the Mega Drive version of Madou Monogatari just gave everyone on the team a little spot to doodle and comment on the game?! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!

The rest of the page is a grid of six squares that look like they are probably scans of Shikishi autograph boards. Some have doodles of cartoon characters, others are just hand drawn text with messages about making the game, thanking the player, etcthe next page continues with 8 more boards. The top two are from the game artists (Akemi Sakai (Kemi [けみ]), Aya Shimazaki (Riu) according to the Mobi games credits)and have pretty great cartoon doodles. Though all the ones on this page are pretty great. One of the musicans has drawn piano keys (I think Tsuyoshi Matsushima (T.松島)?)

I've been looking through old manuals for reference lately and I gotta say the original MSX manual for the Compile's Golvellious is charming as hell. (From Rieks Warendrop / Torreinga's translation on Archive dot org) archive.org/details/golv...

Ozamu Tezuka has these little editorial sections at the beginning of each Astro Boy story and its really fascinating to see his perspective about how sensitive overseas executives were about on-screen depictions of violence despite their countries committing some of the worst atrocities in the world
