in fact afaik the only Irish outlet that even covered it was the Indo, in a single story. there is no good reason for Irish commentators to be writing about Jason Arday in the first place, but to do so in the same year they uniformly ignored Lucey's scandal is evidence of a profound moral vacuum

You putting it this way has me thinking about the non-tech, non-billionaire, non-fascist figures—in, say, mainstream media—who fell for it, proclaiming a vibe shift and telling everyone to accommodate it, out of practical necessity if nothing else. They really seemed to believe it.

A fairer headline would be 'Reform UK proposes letting disabled people die'.

I'd like to compare how Irish commentators wrote about Jason Arday with how they wrote about Brian Lucey, the Irish academic who had several papers retracted earlier this year because he had been corruptly peer reviewing his own work, but literally no Irish commentators wrote about it
