Mark Wood has retired from international cricket. There's only so many times you can put yourself through the mental grinder of injury recovery. Amazing that he got what he did out of a body that is, frankly, too small to bowl that fast. Great bloke and I'm sure he'll have a fantastic media career.

The return to physical media is a radical act. A book in your hand or a record on the turntable belong to a world beyond subscriptions, licenses, and corporate permission, and they can be lent, inherited, annotated, repaired, and loved. They remain when the platform fails and the servers die.

Astonishing to hear people say they'd rather asylum seekers drowned than be saved by the RNLI. Next comes letting people die in burning hostels rather than be saved by the fire brigade and letting people get kicked to death in the street rather than be saved by the Police. Don't platform this hate.

Very encouraging. I was baffled by his lack of pace & energy last season; the injury must have been worse than reported. Elanga is the big surprise for me so far. I did not see a player there, no evidence of a football brain. I will love it if I was wrong about him. Love it. #nufc

I expect that Sky will depict Lewis Hall in a Man U shirt in the team line up graphic before the #NUFC game against Bournemouth, as the presenters weep and hold each other for comfort, clutching their hearts and saying "January, January..."
My kids started watching #NUFC during the Benitez championship season but were too young to fully understand. It really clicked for them in the Howe era. Great times, culminating in that cup win. I'm a bit wistful now that it's over.
