I do understand in the current games economy publishers need to be risk-averse, but it does seem like they are often risk-averse in wrong ways. Some of their boxes to tick during their evaluations are not the right boxes.

It's part of the reason I'm so disappointed by how "scared" games publishing has become. You never find this *can* connect with people unless you take the risk--and publishers want to do that less and less by the day.

You know when they announced this game I was like “this is some niche weirdo shit that is exclusively for me” I guess I underestimated how big even niche cultures can be. Kind of empowering to just do the weirdo stuff and you could still reach a whole lot of people.

Two days to launch - and Truck-kun has crossed 100k wishlists! That's the most we've had since I Am Your Beast!! Please keep spreading the word--and thanks for supporting our weird, punchy little driving game. :) store.steampowered.com/app/3642010/...

BEYOND EXCITED to say that ABIDE is receiving funds from the generous UK Games Fund 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 On top of the Kickstarter funds, this is very likely to mean the game has enough funds to ship without us having to make big compromises. ukgamesfund.com/ukgfnews/new...

I don’t remember any Switch 2 exclusive game I bought since the console came out, but I did buy 2 new games for Switch 1: Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven. Switch 1 is the console of the year for me.

Ownership of software is eroding fast. So what's the thinking behind Playstation's ending of physical? Maybe as they're working on a handheld device, they thought "there is no way I'll put a Bluray reader on this, this is not a Walkman for god's sake. Let's signal to consumer the future is digital"

So apparently there's a Godot For Switch port on the Nintendo forums? Like I thought I had to go with one of the handful of publishers or do it myself, but if I can just, go grab the open source Switch version of Godot? Holy fuk old.reddit.com/r/godot/comm...

I ported my Godot game to Switch 1 & 2 and Nintendo just approved it!

I’ve always designed my game *Dawnfolk* with handheld consoles in mind, so bringing it to Switch was a must for me. At first, I thought porting...
