I think there's a slim but interesting opportunity for Dems to run on taking care of our troops with investments in housing, quality of life, and improved spouse support. None of that is in the $1.5T Hegseth and crew are asking for

I know it sucks, but Dems have got to be prepared to inherit a munitions-and-readiness hole that is going to be expensive to fill, but which will need to be filled. Hardly the only such hole, but it will be a big one.

was about to post “max miller sure is a wackjob” and then i remembered every other news story about a republican politician being insane

Judge Mehta's J6 Requiem "That book is now closed. Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and ... officers who secured these convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy ... to buckle."

This is the last of the prosecutions seeking to hold accountable those responsible for the
events of January 6. That book is now closed. Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that
day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and law enforcement officers who secured these
convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy—the
peaceful transfer of presidential power—to buckle. The court cannot write a different ending.

TAPPER: Hold on -- hold on, 'cause I'm not done with the list of women who have accused you of violence. Are all three of them lying? REP. MAX MILLER: Yes. And I'm not getting out of the race because in 2016, President Donald J Trump faced the most extreme allegations in the world ...

Being able to argue your salary 5% better at interview, or to argue for a bonus that's a bit bigger is worth more than all the points and vouchers and bulk-purchase savings you'll make that year, and it's not a collaborative exercise; your boss is not on your side or playing fair in that negotiation

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

"Everyone knows what the problem is: The organizations that bring young staffers to Washington, D.C. have spent the last decade prioritizing blind ideological loyalty instead of competence or intelligence,” said a senior GOP congressional staffer www.politico.com/news/magazin...

GOP Staffers Say the Party Has a Groyper Problem

Party veterans are concerned that the pipeline of young Republican talent is veering off course — and into terminally online extremism.

Trump’s entire statement is a lie. It’s just this week’s walkback of a threat he isn’t willing to actually carry out. What incentive does Iran have to negotiate in good faith? The 30th “fire and fury” message from Trump simply doesn’t hit the same.
