The first year we had smoke/high AQI in Seattle I ignored it/thought I wasn’t “sensitive”. Welp, turns out I am. If you feel crappy/tired/headachy guess what? You are sensitive too. Drink plenty of water.
“Unhealthy for sensitive groups” really burns me up (yes pun intended). All living beings are sensitive to tiny particles (PM2.5) in smoke AND exposure is cumulative. If you have to go outside, wear an N95 mask if possible, and limit your exposure. #wasmoke
See you all next Saturday 8/8 11am-5pm at the second annual edition of the PhinneyWood Comic Book Show!
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
Ooh, Night Shift got a fancy YouTube review! youtu.be/ruKh_476lkw?...

There's a new anthology, Night Shift, put from Short Run! www.etsy.com/shop/ShortRu... It's a showcase of Seattle talent, edited by Kelly Froh. The prompt was "show off" so I drew a horse driving a car 😆
It's Real Change vendor week, and we need your help! This week, Marie Bouassi (my creative partner for the comic Pen & Eye) and I are teaming up with a Real Change vendor named Joseph. TLDR: Please Venmo $4 to Real Change, with and put 14988 in the notes. account.venmo.com/u/Real-Change

To all those gagging on wildfire smoke who can’t stay inside! Here’s a few things you can do to stay safer. I made this comic for @realchangenews.org a while back, and updated it with more info for the new issue of Barn Sour comix newspaper #wildfiresmoke

If you're a young trans man or trans masc person who needs a dad today, congrats. I am your dad now. I am proud of you and what you've accomplished although some of your young person culture and choices perplex me. I am proof trans men can be middle aged married dudes. You can be too some day. Live.
I was just told I’m getting help for the busiest week of the year at work and now I’m CRYING?! 😭
Level of Seattle: it’s 75 degrees and I’ve strapped an ice pack to my head

I just found out Sly and the Family Stone is singing “County fair in the country sun" and not “Honey bear in the country sun” - needless to say I’m devastated
My comic for the latest issue of @realchangenews.org ! Indie comics & zine fairs are almost always free, full of awesome people, and a great way to check out art. Here are some upcoming in the Seattle area. If I missed one, please comment with info!
Thrilling to see my name and comic in my hometown newspaper, in a lovely article about a great store and an important movement.
I wrote about Paper Pushers, the fantastic, fun new pop-up zine store in downtown Seattle. This is one of those time-specific happenings that people are going to be fondly recalling years from now. Go take part —they would love to carry your zines and host your free creative events.
I got my first ARC! I started applying for them so I can get the cool sounding books ASAP, when all the reviewers I follow get them. I lucked out that I loved this one! I’m excited to be an official reviewer.✨ www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I try not to read books with AI-generated covers but it can be hard to tell sometimes. I spend too much time zooming in and looking for signs. So I appreciate rough homespun cover art because it’s easy to see it was done by human hand.
