suspiciously majestic. I would die for Ferris from the Rust programming language.

I’ve volunteered at food pantries and you sometimes get people upset to see someone in a nice car using a food pantry and I need to completely assure you that the person with the nice car actually is in need of that food because people who aren’t in need do not pretend to need food

The Michigan primary looks a lot less close when you consider how much money was spent on the Stevens campaign. El-Sayed is right of course, we must have money out of politics.

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

The more I reflect on it the angrier I get. I have never seen a film with such a large difference between the quality of individual scenes and the horridness of the overall finished product. Genuine 0/10 movie it should not exist.

Wow Enola Holmes 3 is awful awful. It has many of the beats that made the first one fun and the second one tolerable, but this one actually feels like a ChatGPT movie. Random scenes smushed together into movie sludge. Truly the most Netflix a movie has ever been (derogatory).

I'm going to help out Netflix with their writing on Avatar with alternatives for *that line*: * My name is Toph Beifong, Welcome to Jackass * My name is Toph Beifong, you killed my father, prepare to die * My name is Toph Beifong, commander of the armies of the North, general of the Felix Legions

Most "life pro tips" are dumb at best or more likely damaging, but learning how to get the most out of my dishwasher has really been a huge improvement in my day to day life.

So thanks to my yearly "YouTube remembers where I'm originally from" cycle, I have discovered that the only way to distinguish SV exec types from "people who don't like the ATF" is to judge whether they look like they use sunscreen because their outfits are shockingly similar a lot of the time.

whenever someone tells you that it's simply impossible for police to be charged with misconduct or criminal charges, you can tell they're wrong because some cops do get charged regularly — when they are whistleblowers or reformers prosecutors are actually extremely eager to help drum them out!

Prosecutors charged an LAPD officer with felony eavesdropping for making secret recordings of his colleagues’ racist, sexist and homophobic comments on the job

Been thinking about guns and fast cars a lot lately. Specifically about what it means to enjoy a clear net negative to society. And the bitterness of having willingly given them up because you think the world would be better about them while most people won't even give up mid wizard novels or LLMs.

If somebody came to one of my writing classes with a novel about a “24-year-old wunderkind” on Wall Street called Leopold Aschenbrenner who graduated from Columbia aged 19, looked and dressed exactly like this, and crashed the stock market, I’d advise them to tone it down a bit
