i hate that AI companies have muddied the word "generative" Generative art: procedural art created using a *system of mathematical rules designed intentionally* by the artist. AI-generated: created by automated systems (LLMs) using opaque, extractive processes unknown to both the user and viewer.

Something I've noticed on reddit game subs specifically is that there are some folks who get really, genuinely angry at being told that software developers are not standardized interchangeable parts that can just be swapped between games/teams to "fix" what they imagine is wrong with a game.

Seeing a lot of people thinking the "you are not immune to propaganda" truism somehow doesn't apply to their ability to identify genAI content.

not just the first couple of levels, the whole first third of the game was free. shareware was a common form of demo distribution. games often let you play tons of it then advertised more enemies, new levels, new items and weapons if you got the full version

People may not know this but Doom became the big success because of sharing games, their advertising was to put the first couple levels into the hands of the players. Shareware is the way to play, so copy your games and give them away. Fuck Copyrights they exist now to prevent new business.
