\overbar{L} usually denotes a history of values. recently i was introduced to \underbar{L} which was defined as future values of L, but i really dislike this notation. at the very least it should be flipped. complexity without aiding description imo

I agree with this. Saying “having them somewhere” means it would be ok in the supplement and that is wrong imo. I would instead increase the size of the methods section and move the discussion to the supplement.

The methods section is the most important section of a paper. Without knowing the methods, the results are literally meaningless. So it's not OK to relegate the methods to the end. Because this suggests they are an optional afterthought rather than the essential core of the entire paper.

Some day in the not too distant future journals will just publish titles of papers, no details, everything in supplement.

Hard to see so many basic rights being dismantled and not view the Biden interregnum as a total failure. His presidency was premised on restoring institutions and stability, and so many of the wins achieved have already been undone by Trump (as well as 50+ years of progress).
