Given the rise of the new generation of conversion therapists through groups like Genspect, SEGM and Therapy First; it’s only a matter of time until parents sue when their child transitions and cuts off contact after they spent tens of thousands of dollars on the practice. Those lawsuits I support.

But if you pull back, it seems clear that the session was held in a broom cupboard (?) in which I count 30 attendees plus the panel, admittedly sitting in close harmony. And the only person apparently standing is the videographer.
Numbers don’t lie. After the rather embarrassing 200 vice 1,000 turn out at the Labour Women’s Conference the anti-trans ‘LGB Alliance’ were keen to post that their meeting had been ‘standing room only’ (Picture 1), although there seems to be a lot of floor space visible in the picture…
There are two ways to sort this - perhaps BOTH need to be implemented. By far the best is to introduce short primary legislation to restore the position of trans people in the Equality Act. The second is to recognise that the promotion of womens’ (or anyone’s) rights is a matter for all.
The Labour Party’s women’s conference on 26/9/26 was an embarrassing farce, with only 200 delegates of the 1,000 normal attendance (no major unions) in protest of the Labour Party’s shameful abandonment of trans people following the legally absurd ruling of the Supreme Court in FWS in April 2025.
I just watched The Guardian podcast where Marina Hyde is asked why she picked JK Rowling as her dream Prime Minister and she just dodges the question saying, “Oh, I don’t want to get into a whole thing.” Such a coward’s trick from someone who markets themselves as a straight talker.
Transphobia is genuinely an elite fixation that is much less popular than most politicians and media outlets would have you believe.
