A podcast by Lebanese writer and researcher @ayoub.bsky.social. “A place where we tell our hardest truths, and find one another" - Naomi Klein Art by therosaartist.com

Caught up on episodes #193 and #194 of the @thefirethesetimes.com podcast with Amos Goldberg on Gaza, the Holocaust, Holocaust studies and genocide studies and this whole, oftentimes very silly, debate — really informative for those who care thefirethesetimes.com/2025/05/25/i...

I edited this episode. It's really powerful. Hearing Maram speak at length about her daily life in Gaza under Israeli siege and bombardment is just ... I don't know how to communicate how privileged we are to hear the stories of someone resisting genocide. We need to listen, we need to do more.

We spoke to Gaza journalist Maram Humaid about the many layers of Israel's genocide @thefirethesetimes.com. There was even an Israeli airstrike nearby during our recording. The full episode is available for free here www.patreon.com/posts/tftt-1... @fromtheperiphery.com

TFTT 195 and 196/ The Wars Within the War on Gaza w/ Maram Humaid

For @thefirethesetimes.com @justinsalhani.bsky.social and I spoke about what it’s like to be the children of the children of war. Our parents were active in the 1975-90 Lebanon wars - his father, Claude Salhani, as a photojournalist and my parents with the Red Cross www.patreon.com/posts/tftt-1...

In this wonderful conversation with @mollycrabapple.bsky.social, @ayoub.bsky.social mentions his work looking into the "bloodless civil war" between Yiddish and Hebrew and we are incredibly excited to be publishing it next week.

Doikayt Now! @mollycrabapple.bsky.social joins @ayoub.bsky.social to talk about the Bund and how their concept of ‘Hereness’ can help us build a better world than the hellscape being proposed by techno-dystopianism and end-time fascism. @fromtheperiphery.com More info below

The Yiddish reads 'wherever we live, that's our homeland' with a man yelling in the middle. The large text reads 'Doikayt Now' and below it are illustrations of Molly Crabapple and Elia Ayoub, both done by Molly

Bella conversazione sulla riscoperta della tradizione del Bund - l'unione dei lavoratori ebrei - e cosa possa significare per l'oggi l'intraducibile parola yiddish "Doikayt".

Seriously, you probably need to listen to this, but it just doesn’t seem like a thing that you need to listen to. I think you should trust me. Just listen.

"And this earth belongs to you just as much as it does to anyone" @mollycrabapple.bsky.social and @ayoub.bsky.social talk about the Jewish Labour Bund, and how their concept of Doikayt ('Hereness') resonates today Out now on all podcast apps and www.patreon.com/posts/tftt-1...

post-🎧 reflections: the Bund & the concept of "Hereness" mirrors the practice of mutual aid in that both ask of us to start w. where we are & what we have. both ask of us to stop looking outward for solutions & instead build & invest in our current geographical temporality. @essssraaa.bsky.social
