Forty years ago Hannya-ji (般若寺) was rather down on its luck, its grounds gone to seed. The then abbot came across a single cosmos, and so started researching the flowers. Little by little he began to transform the precints, and now 150,000 cosmos plants grow here! #般若寺
In 1931, the Irving family, who lived on a farm on the Isle of Man, claimed to have been visited by Gef, the Talking Mongoose. Gef supposedly told them "I am a freak. I have hands and I have feet, and if you saw me you'd faint, you'd be petrified, mummified, turned into stone or a pillar of salt!"
Gef also told them that he was "an extra extra clever mongoose," an "Earthbound spirit" and "a ghost in the form of a weasel." The story became popular in the British tabloids. Investigators visited the Irving home, but found no proof of Gef. Some believe it was a hoax, using ventriloquism.
Half or more of the best games I've ever played are games like Zniw Adventure or Pentiment, where it's really obvious that the topic of choice is a massive hyperfixation for the people who made the game. It sucks that people think education and cartoons are both for children. Go play Zniw Adventure
