Kent County showed the fuck up for El-Sayed. Not surprised. When I was heading out to vote yesterday, I had my Abdul sign to my right, neighbor’s yard sign to my left, and the truck parked in front of me had a sign in their back window. Passed a few on the way to the polling place, too.

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
when you‘re up against a candidate backed by the governor, the senate minority leader, and the departing senator for that seat, and you’re outspent by like 10x, and you STILL WIN, it doesn’t matter if it’s a win by 20% or 5% or 0.5%. it’s a BIG FUCKIN WIN
Pretty sure when you win the election it's a big election night. Pretty sure when your party's leadership all endorses the loser, it means the leadership is out of touch with the electorate.
I couldn’t be prouder of the movement we’ve built in mid-Michigan. Thank you, Ambassador Bridget Brink and Matt Maasdam, for your years of public service and all your hard work on the campaign trail. While tonight we celebrate, there’s still much more work ahead.
Money out of politics. Money in your pocket. Medicare for All. Michigan... We won. I am so proud to be your Democratic nominee for US Senate. Let's win in November.
this is good to see but also, refusing to jump on a bandwagon until there’s a winner? 🙄
Nearly $70 million in outside spending was deployed against Abdul El-Sayed, while Gretchen Whitmer, Debbie Stabenow, Gary Peters, Dana Nessel and almost the entire Michigan Democratic establishment lined up behind his opponent. He won anyway.
bad news for Stevens out of Washtenaw. her paths to victory are almost nil. el-sayed holding at 2% lead. hot damn.
scraping out a win while being outspent by tens of millions of dollars is a pretty decisive win imo
AES scraping out a victory is probably the worst possible result ngl. We needed a decisive win by *somebody*.
Abdul El-Sayed is outperforming his benchmarks in every county reporting so far, though all are areas where he was expected to run well. Unless Stevens significantly overperforms in the Detroit area, this is set to be an early night.
I’m actually a little surprised he’s only at 55% in Kent County.
first drop from Grand Rapids has a result I would not actually be surprised to see as close to the final margin
if I had any access to this guy, I just know deep in my bones that it'd be childs play to create a fake MAHA influencer that could convince him to start eating his own poop
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
you’ll never guess (Scholten is running unopposed, but I decided not to mark the bubble for her anyway, because spite.)
anyone who has a long-haired cat knows “no residual stool” is a goddamn lie
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
Two teams of U.S. Department of Justice observers are swinging through polling places in Lansing, MI today. They sit off to the side, jot a few notes and move on. A Michigan Department of State official monitoring the monitors tells me they’ve been uniformly kind and cordial.
can imagine the personal relationship between Senators Slotkin and El-Sayed going anywhere from “buddy cop movie” to “literal homicide”
Slotkin tells me on Abdul El-Sayed and Haley Stevens, “the most important thing is putting a check and balance on Donald Trump, so I will support whoever wins.”

Here in Grand Rapids' 1st Ward, we're voting for a city commissioner to replace some right-leaning dude who's running for higher office. Honestly all these people seem like improvement, but I'm not seeing policy positions on data centers... www.stevetibbe.com www.lindseyforgr.com eatmanforward1.com
