according to the article, it took hours after the personal intervention of the mayor for his family to even get basic information about him. that information included that he had been transferred to ICE custody hours after being shot. no amnesty

i cannot say i really understand the derisive commentary about the Kennedy center protests. much of the negative reaction is “why aren’t libs protesting ICE or detention centers?” when there’s been constant, ongoing protests from liberals on these issues in DC and elsewhere for two years

My theory that a lot of centrists were going to show up at their local (def not NYC) DSA chapters and immediately freak out is playing out pretty much exactly as I imagined.
I’ll take this a step further and say, I believe we should be able to support an average-sized family on a single income at what we determine to be the minimum wage. A lot of Boomers got this. But for whatever reason, we’re considered ridiculous for proposing it.
