Something I want to challenge in management is the idea that someone must take on extra responsibilities for 3-6 months before they are promoted. As a tech lead (w/ reports) before the pandemic I thought, ya ok this is doable. But jumping into Eng manager during, I no longer hold this view. 🧵

Scrolling the skyline, it’s obvious that Black people and LGBTQIA+ people are the backbone of the content creation here. It’s not surprising, given the level of vitriol on twitter, that those are the communities searching for a better platform.

I just want to let the record reflect that @aliafonzy.bsky.social got me and a host of other big platforms on this app and she (as well as Black twitter) need to be apart of the conversation on making this app pop

Waking up to BlueSky is such a calming experience. It’s a vibe that can’t be replicated on the other app. I feel like I’m in the trenches with these devs reporting bugs to improve the experience for us all. Vs on the other app, I was just sad for those devs and hoped they could get out ASAP.

📢 1.23 update! Lots of bug fixes, new bad-content reporting categories, and invite codes now persist if they were copied (per device). Alt text input should be fixed and the error in the notifications screen should be fixed!
