It's tiring to hear devs say "GenAI is good at coding now!". Great! I've been good the whole time, by the way. Now, did they also solve the fact that it's trained on others' work without permission? Or that it's horribly power-inefficient? Or built by evil people not operating for the public good?

As a person on the non-technical side of game dev, if you say "I'd like to try programming" out loud three times, excited programmers will show up like you summoned a supportive Bloody Mary. If you actually interact with other humans, that is.
