In 50 days time our members will be taking 5 weeks of strike action. We call for the redundancy process to be stopped! Executives want 200 jobs to go (187FTE). Due to resignations and retirements, and non-staff savings, they are 35FTE from their staffing target. Stop this cruel, flawed process.

The interim Principal of the University of Dundee has just sent an email to staff outlining staff headcount and FTE. The data that he shares shows that data given to the Gillies report and Scottish Parliament on staff numbers was wildly inaccurate. And that more FTE than headcount have left!!!

Yesterday our interim Principal, gave evidence to the Education, Children and Young People Committee. He stated that he had never ruled out redundancies. Judge for yourself.

Our members have voted to support industrial action to fight against job cuts passed today! In the ballot our 72% of members were in favour of strike action, and 90% in favour of action short of strike. Turnout was 58%. Thank you to all members, reps and officials for helping us get the vote out.

Let’s call a spade a spade. Or as they say in Armenian «Ծուռ նստինք, շիտակ խօսինք»։ (let’s sit crookedly, but speak straight) Our Union rejects the latest so-called recovery plan.

NO REDUNDANCIES at the University of Dundee. Fantastic news in our fight to save jobs, as interim Principal Prof Nigel Seaton confirms that there will be no redundancies. A massive victory for everyone who has supported us. Looking forward to receiving the removal of Section 188 in writing.
