My 4yo looked me in the eyes, next to his mother, and said: “Mama, I love you most.” Social comparison only hurts with prediction error. I am a well-calibrated dad.

Been saying this for years: Don't submit to Frontiers. Don't peer-review for Frontiers. It's long been considered a predatory publisher by many in the field, including many who have worked as editor there.

I’ve officially resigned as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience. It used to be a reputable journal, but became a case study in how forced automation destroys academic integrity. 👇

Die Regierung will nichts ändern. Experten wüssten, was zu tun wäre.

I got very lucky that twitter’s Golden Age and my postdoc period happened to align. I hope to see bluesky reach the same level of utility one day 🤞

The Academic Breakfast Club is a seminar series to give researchers at the faculty the essentials of a successful academic career. Today, @dsquintana.bsky.social, held the talk "The essentials of social media for researchers" – I would't be where I am in my career if it wasn't for social media.

The annals of Elsevier villainy are extensive, but perhaps their funniest gambit was when they started six "Australasian" fake journals that were really just sponsored publications for pharmaceutical companies, set up to launder their marketing as ostensibly peer-reviewed research.
