I would be thrilled to have a google that worked again! To find recipes that I know real people made and tested! To not have these intrusive ass bots condescendingly asking if they can summarize things for me, as if I'm not a grown ass person who's been reading and comprehending text for DECADES.
I have one answer.
I encourage all of us to have the grace and focus shown in this going up within minutes of the race being called.
El-Sayed, Lawrence and McKinney all won progressive campaigns in Michigan last night by talking about climate and clean energy like it was a kitchen-table issue — because skyrocketing energy bills and endless wildfire smoke matter to people.
As international attention shift toward the war in Iran, Trump's interventions in Latin America have gotten overshadowed. But reactionary governments are popping up across the map, poised to undo decades of redistributive politics, social rights, & environmental regulation. Caleb Brennan reports.

This article is poorly thought out trash. He presents the false choice of either taking the right-wing hateful position, or being silent. He doesn't look at all of the athletes and sports personalities that speak with clarity on political issues from the position of kindness shared by 80%+ of people
Aaron Rodgers spoke out about Dr. Anthony Fauci. Sophie Cunningham spoke out about transgender athletes. Caitlin Clark chose not to weigh in. Three different approaches, one common result: criticism. Steve Buckley on how athletes can't win on social media: nyti.ms/3Sa9A7D

New York City’s business elites are long accustomed to direct access to City Hall, where even Democratic mayors felt the need to court the city’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders. That access is getting shredded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
YESSSSS more good news out of Michigan!
In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
i've found many cis people either: ▪️ don't know anything about this at all ▪️ or imagine it *allows* service providers to be trans-exclusionary, rather than *mandates* that & are only now catching up
This is what we need to hear more of. And we need to forgive people when they say this. Better late than never - we need more people to speak up and speak louder however late they join the fight.
Fields of Mistria is launching fully into 1.0 tomorrow!!! I'm so proud of the team for not only making a game happen (impossible task) but also making it one of the best games ever (great news for me AND you!!)
I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.
One way to be safe is to never write an electability take
I spoke with 10 CNNers about David Ellison's essay in The NYT, in which he tried to convince the public he'll be a good steward of CNN. Suffice to say, no one at the network is buying what he's selling. “We all have eyes and ears and see what’s happening at CBS." www.status.news/p/david-elli...

amazing how so few of the gazillion think pieces criticizing women for not dating straight men fail to mention the whole “many of them literally don’t wash their asses” thing:
I remember a coworker in her late twenties saying this on how dating was so difficult. I was not surprised by her first two complaints: general anger issues and having few outside hobbies. I WAS surprised at her mention of how many men apparently don’t wash their hair or butts.

With Amendment 5’s failure, state lawmakers are now unable to expand sales and use taxes in order to eliminate the state income tax.

Couple nights ago I watched Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, and I kind of hate it. There are a couple good scenes, but mostly it’s an incredibly shallow satire with a veneer of weirdness to make it seem interesting.
i really have no patience whatsoever for people who are scared of muslims having elected office
Gill: All 100 senators last week passed a non-binding resolution condemning any pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. They're simultaneously considering confirming the guy who met with her and moved her to a low-security facility as the top cop in the United States. That is so insane to me.
Extremely Weird Dude Shri Thanedar also lost. He actually had a couple really good moments in congress, to my absolute shock, but we’re better off without him.
I don’t live in Ann Arbor anymore so I hadn’t watched this race as closely as I might, but incumbent mayor Christopher Taylor lost his primary to progressive challenger Yousef Rabhi by ten points. Damn.

Looks like a 10-15 point polling miss in Michigan regardless of who wins. And people have been writing a lot of electability takes using this data. It’s dangerous out there folks be safe
i know votes are still being counted but the more i look at this michigan senate map the more it becomes clear that it kind of looks like a mitten
Except for religious studies, the graduates of these "loan ineligible" majors are disproportionately women. Fans of this policy have probably never considered that social worker, cosmetician, teachers aide, etc might be low-paying jobs *because* women do them. newrepublic.com/post/213446/...
