Every claim Trump makes here is false. He swims in a sea of Kremlin disinformation & his own fantasies. I know why European leaders, having failed for years to invest in defence, feel they have to keep in Trump’s good graces; but they shd see now they can't rely on him, & accelerate rearmament.

1/ Donald Trump's interview with Newsmax yesterday shows very clearly that he subscribes to many false Russian-originated claims and conspiracy theories about the war in Ukraine and has a strong personal dislike of President Zelenskyy. Here's a full transcript:

It's legitimate for the EU, the UK, Canada and others to support their Ukrainian ally. If Musk is going to (in effect) assist Putin's invasion of Ukraine, Ukraine's allies should sanction Starlink, X and Tesla. At the very least, governments (and people) should stop using his fucking site already.

Many Starlink terminals in Ukraine are financed by Poland. Its Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has put Elon Musk on notice regarding the evolving situation.

For the first time, the British government has acknowledged that Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum. So who did BBC Newsnight invite on to discuss what happened? Sergei Markov, Putin’s former spokesman. Par for the course, says Nerve co-founder @carolecadwalla.bsky.social 1/

British Conservatives: "Russia has disgracefully interfered in politics in France, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Moldova, Romania and invaded Ukraine. They even meddled in the US elections." Also British Conservatives: "What? Russia! Interfere in Brexit? Ridiculous! Just a tired old conspiracy theory."

Boris Johnson’s claims about asking whether Russia interfered in Brexit are misleading. He didn’t ask for any formal assessment and nor did he receive a categorical response. Anyone printing a notorious liar’s disingenuous comments is engaged in deliberate obfuscation.

I just do NOT UNDERSTAND why no-one wants to talk about raising inheritance tax to fund social care etc. And I REALLY DO NOT understand why Kemi can propose exactly the opposite and no-one thinks it a bit dubious to hand £6bn to the wealthiest 5% in the country. Do people just not realise??

The Trump regime wants to dismantle the International Criminal Court because it plans to continue committing war crimes. The Trump regime is refusing to allow international election monitors because it plans to continue committing election fraud. They are not being subtle.

The Times - which has v much joined in the rightwing clamour to reduce immigration - now reporting that Mahmood’s “success” has cost the economy £4- to £7Bn. Would they like to now honestly confirm that fewer people = less spending power for all. There’s a high price to pay for this nasty obsession.

Falling migration numbers could cost the chancellor as much as £7bn in fiscal headroom as he writes his first budget, The Times has been told.
Government insiders believe that John Healey, who already faced an uphill battle to balance the books next month, is likely to have an even bigger challenge after immigration undershot projections from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
The Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank estimated last month that the success of Shabana
Mahmood's
reforms, which have cut net migration to the low hundreds of thousands, could cost Healey some £4bn.

AB: "I don't think you get the welfare bill down with crude cuts. It plunges people into crisis and they show up in other parts of the system which end up costing more." LK: "Yeah, you've said this before, but I'm looking for a specific commitment you will cut the bill by the next election." WOW

The £36m donations are legal and to change the law retrospectively would be outrageous! Yes, it was announced in Parliament on 25 March that the legislation would apply to any donations from that day onwards, but that was the day all Reform MPs staged a walk-out, so we missed it.

"I'm Spartacus." Bellend. Such privilege on display. This prick somehow thinks that by virtue of already huge entitlement he deserves more of it. That he controls a miles-radius round his lilywhite castle. You pay same tax as this douche. Do you get to dictate who lives half a mile down the road?

No wonder Piddington people are in such a state of fear about the prospect of asylum seekers being housed in the Bicester base. This total throbber of a Parish Council chair Tim McNally has been telling them that their children will be murdered.

All day Piddington's womminfolk have been telling news how they will be terrified of "hundreds of young men nearby, free to come and go as they please." NOT ONE JOURNALIST has asked: "How did you cope when it was an army base? Who came and went then? Nuns?" Soon as you ask that, all becomes clear.

The people of Piddington have spoken. I say, grant them independence. Border controls. Visas to cross into the UK. Tariffs on goods. No GBP. No NHS. No benefits or pensions. Let us know when your little lilywhite enclave has gone all Mad Max and you started eating each other. BUH-BYE!
