To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes

I will not vote for any member of a congress that passes a bill banning trans care. Don't care what side you're on, and don't care if you're running for dogcatcher. I don't care if the GOP runs things. Figure out how to stop it or I'll vote for someone who will.
