Made a backend for Dear ImGui for Sega Dreamcast. I can’t believe it works. Sadly, I don’t have a mouse/keyboard for the Dreamcast, but once I do, it’s going to make this thing even more incredible. 😂
I'm going to break up my graphics pipeline spam in my gpu.cpp file by using C++ concepts. First time using them, they remind me of duck typing in go.
I'm like at the 2 month point where I usually get bored and abandon my project to do something new, I am feeling that right now. I suddenly want to work on a software CPU rasterizer again. BUT. I have decided NO. I will stick with it. Added buildings back #gamedev
So... I decided to finally drop Löve. I started looking and building my own framework layer to support my engine. Going with SDL3 + SDL_GPU.
I backed this cute cat taro card thing on @kickstarter.com I love taro card art stuff. I guess I collect them. I usually pick them up at expos and conventions though. www.kickstarter.com/projects/mus...

I have been trying to write semi-daily posts about my projects on a little voxel based top down game where you hit players and units, and that's about all it can do right now tipling.com/striking-ani...
Striking animation with weapon is next
I think after buildings are back I want to add a striking animation that involves the unit handling a weapon.

I'm just gonna stay off of social platforms until the AI storm is over. I'll keep working on my project, and at some point people will either have adapted or moved on and by then forge-gpu will be pretty capable and maybe I'll have a game written and people will not automatically hate it.
This week I will spend time improving the existing SDL GPU lessons and the technical writing in forge-gpu instead of adding more lessons. I think they all need a lot of work and could be better written.
added 3 new SDL_GPU lessons to forge-gpu, spotlights, noise, and procedural sky github.com/RosyGameStud... github.com/RosyGameStud... github.com/RosyGameStud...
I added a point light with shadows lesson to forge-gpu github.com/RosyGameStud... I also recently added 8 engine lesson covering C basics, debugging and Renderdoc github.com/RosyGameStud... All done with @claudeai
Added a bloom lesson built with SDL_GPU to forge-gpu github.com/RosyGameStud... written with claude code
I added lesson 17 for how to calculate tangent space for surface details using SDL_GPU to the forge-gpu project: github.com/RosyGameStud... The project now has 17 GPU lessons and 10 math lessons All done with Claude Code
You don't get a free pass to harass someone when you find out they used AI to build, create or research something. People think they get a license to insult individuals and the work they decided to share. You can just stay quiet instead.

Great writeup by @picoduck.bsky.social about her RT work in Mesa on RADV pixelcluster.github.io/Mesa-26/ Go read it right now and learn something.
