Leta helps people who are downtrodden all the time with the mentality that they will “rise” with her, but she ends up turning her eyes away from systematic injustice. She doesn’t want to make the world fair; she wants to win the rigged game to validate herself and the skills she worked hard for.

(what's the opposite of a charm point...) Anyways, what's your character's yuck point? #wolqotd | #wolquestion 🤮

Odysseus becomes a Christian sinner who must seek atonement in order to be forgiven. And as a repentant sinner, he has to act with a certain seriousness & humility that clash terribly with the trickster Odysseus of Homer. 5/10

This Odysseus isn’t a mischievous trickster. He doesn’t taunt the cyclops (one of the funniest, most iconoc moments in the epic.) He takes great pride in fighting honorably, even warning his prey when hunting. (In the epics, Odysseus’s 2 greatest feats at Troy both involve sneak attacks.) 6/10

Related to the prev tweet: it’s Alphinaud. His storyline in ARR prioritizes his relationship to masculinity and his benevolent patriarch role model, Louisoix. He took it personally when his grandfather passed him over, and his condescension towards Minfilia is in trying to embody a “good man.”
