I've been watching a new autistic creator, and I'm watching a video on stimming and how healthy and useful it is. She said, stim freely So...I did! Remembering what I did as a kid, how I nice automatically when very distressed to calm myself And I started rocking in bed. Hard. It felt. So good.

I'm autistic and most of my friends are autistic. The hell do I need AI for? One of us will have it covered. 😂

Ofc anyone should be allowed to have as much consensual sex with as many people as they like, but I feel like the whole sex positivity movement really dropped the ball on those of us who don't actually need sex and/or romance to have fulfilling lives.

Some people really talk like they’re addicted to AI, as if it’s a drug dependency. Is it really so hard to quit? I never relinquished my brain to it in the first place, so I don’t know. But it seems like another good reason to keep it away from kids.

This term, aside from my own dissertation-oriented research on lulavs, I’ll be taking classes on the Convivencia & Syriac language, & TA’ing this Islam class….I’m going to be spending a lot more time with Christianity & Islam than I’m used to! It’s probably good for me to be well-rounded :)

I’m TA’ing an undergrad “Women & Gender in Islam” class. This is not my real area of expertise, but I can handle it at undergraduate level. And now I have an excuse to buy a bunch of books this week!

My family is driving me crazy but soon classes will start & I can bury myself in Mesopotamian lulav analogues. Can’t come soon enough.

autism was mega stigmatized and now autism is noticeably less stigmatized by comparison to how it was perceived before This is one of the major reasons that more people are publicly discussing being autistic nowadays

We're autistic when someone wants to scare people about our existence and use our autism to claim we're not able to make sound decisions. We're non-autistic attention-seekers when we need minor changes to the environment or how people want to interact with us.

There is no such thing as “mild” autism. If you are autistic, you are disabled. Yes, there is HUGE variability re: how that disability manifests. Almost infinite and complicated and often misunderstood and underestimated variability. But there is no such thing as “mild” autism. #neurodiversity

As a Religious Studies professor, this directly targets my livelihood in a way that makes a mockery of any supposed profession of concern the administration has ever expressed for me as a Jewish person on campus.

I’m fascinated by people who say “I’m not Jewish and know nothing about Judaism but I think [extremely wrong opinion about Jews] and I don’t understand how anyone thinks otherwise” Like what possesses someone to that level of staggering incorrectness?

I’m glad the ghost is here, tbh. I’m pretty tired of narratives about “good” Nazis, it centers the wrong people in the Holocaust. But in this game, there’s a constant, critical Jewish voice present, reminding the Nazi that he’s not a hero, that he is ethically OBLIGATED to save these people.

I’m playing “Quartet,” a video game in which the ghost of Maimonides (living in a golem) lectures a Nazi about ethics using teachings from the “Shmoneh Perakim.”

My husband is playing an RPG called “Quartet,” & it has a character who’s an ancient golem named “Zikaron.” Zikaron is controlled by the spirit of a dead sage named “Maimon.” Love me some fantasy-Jew rep! Gonna have to play it myself soon.

The thing about a gifted 7yr old is that they’re smart enough to figure out how to avoid eating vegetables or going to bed, but they’re not smart enough to truly understand that they have to eat & sleep or else they will literally die.

Advice for AuDHD early career researchers: You’ve already been doing PhD-level research for more than a decade now in your spare time, about nerdy stuff that most people don’t get or care about. When you have to research *for real*, don’t think that depth or level of commitment isn’t enough. It is!
