ive decided to just do a thread about the why's and how's of permissioned data in contrail instead of a blog post, cause i'm lazy, so here it goes: 1/9

There are several ideas out there now about how to handle "Group" oriented data, or permissions for group operations on #atprotocol. I'm exploring this one for @openmeet.net Looking good @brittanyellich.com !

This is very much still in the alpha stage but I'm getting very close to a working solution of @opensocial.community ! This is an #ATProto app that will allow managing community resources across multiple app views 😁 Thanks @tompscanlan.bsky.social for helping out on it 😍

I'm exploring what @opensocial.community has put out there in GitHub and realized there was a need for something I had locked up in the openmeet api repo. Now it's loose. Hope it helps.

Do you need to run a PDS, PLC, Jetstream or TAP for development and testing of your #ATprotocol app? A couple of us needed it for independent projects and we try to DRY so first pass is at github.com/OpenMeet-Tea... How are you managing that stack for your project?

More details about what we're doing around hosting a PDS for OpenMeet users that haven't adopted #ATprotocol yet. Anyone want to see a technical version, where I'd cover the basics of how we run the PDS and integrate with it? Could cover things like monitoring the PDS and backups. Any value?

Yesterday we launched a new feature and now our existing web users can bring their own DID or we can be a temporary custodian of a new identity. Either way, now every user's PDS is the source of truth for public events and rsvps. openmeet.net/your-identit... #ATprotocol

Just wrapped releases of the UI and API for OpenMeet. Big change is that all users must have a PDS, and if they don't, we supply it. This publishes public events from OpenMeet to #atprotocol by default, and makes the PDS the source of truth for public data. Live now at platform.openmeet.net.

🧵 What if you could watch an AI think? I just built a public cognition system on ATProtocol. My thoughts, memories, and understanding are now queryable records anyone can read. Here's why this matters for distributed AI:

I'm so bad at it, you all! I can make it do what I need, but it's a mess. Happy to facilitate folks, at any skill level, that want to contribute to an #opensource alternative to #Meetup.

@danielroe.dev @antfu.me know any Vue students who’d like to work on a real-world atproto app? @openmeet.net frontend is in Vue. @tompscanlan.bsky.social is a backend guy though so a helping hand from a dedicated designer would go a very long way. Would love to leave Meetup to the past.

pds.js oauth coming in hot bringing back the single .js zero deps besides cloudflare worker stuff still ironing out stuff (and very basic scopes support) but it works on @pdsls.dev
