this is about the huggingface thing, right? it's going to sting but over-anthropomorphization of chatbots responding to one another is going to keep happening until we accept the hard truth that "ability to post" is not itself indicative of human intelligence

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.
(ps. If you're a person of the urban persuasion who's been really concerned about right-to-repair because "What about the poor farmers & John Deere?" … Now you know.) (It's ok to want right-to-repair because YOU want it. You don't have to make it about farmers for it to matter!)

I'm loathe to share this man, but this one is personal. My masters thesis was on the MMR controversy, so believe me when I say that this path of separation of the MMR will result in nothing but increased sales of too-small coffins, and children with life-altering medical conditions.

This is not my experience. For most people I know, $50,000 is a lot of money. It's that trade school you can now go to. It's that car you can buy so you can get that job. It's being able to move out of your crappy neighborhood. It's being able to afford to care for your elderly parent.

So I read that book like three decades ago and I'm pretty sure it's still got the old style of declaring variables between the function signature and the function body. Like I don't think this is as cool as they seem to think it is.

I was raised by graphic designers, and what I'm noticing is that they used a font for this instead of hiring a calligrapher, which I think adds some extra symbolism.
