Happy Pride! Marching again this year with the Toronto Society of Architects.
Toronto Society of Architects
@tosoarch.bsky.social
Established in 1887 we are a non-profit organization bringing people together to discuss, learn and explore Toronto's built environment.
Was so fun marching at pride! Thank you @tosoarch.bsky.social for inviting me and creating these amazing signs of green spaces/places’
Attending this year's Toronto Pride Street Fair? Come visit our booth on Church just north of Wellesley to learn more about our city's #queerspaces through our mini-exhibition. You can even snag some limited edition merch celebrating The Village to help support this work!
Day 2 of church street pedestrianization. I am floored at how fast it happened. Nice work from the TSA interpreting a 8 sites. Even got into the Steps controversy (you can see the remnants of the steps in background)
And with that, our @tosoarch.bsky.social activation is now out on Church St—and people are reading them 🩷🖤. So proud of what our team was able to accomplish in just a couple of weeks and excited we get to contribute to this great initiative. Streets are for people.
It's been a few late nights and a whole lot of heart, but very soon (tonight!) we'll be rolling out a special @tosoarch.bsky.social installation for the Church Street pedestrianization project. 🩷🖤 Excited to be contributing to this initiative!
Thanks for the shout out @canadianarchitect.bsky.social ! Our walking tours are a great way to get to know the city and run every Saturday and Sunday from May all the way to the end of October!
A roundup of tours exploring urban design, heritage, and architecture across major Canadian cities.
As always, @jocelynsquires.bsky.social has an excellent summary of our talk currently happening at UofT Daniels as part of Doors Open Toronto 2026!
Here at Architects Talk: Toronto's Identity, presented by @tosoarch.bsky.social for #DoorsOpenTO at #UofTDaniels! @novakovicto.bsky.social giving beautiful context on the question of, what is architecture in Toronto? Glorious to see the room so full ❤️
What is heritage? This question provided a fun throughline to this @janeswalk.bsky.social tour of North York City Centre, co-led by @planning.cityof.toronto.ca and @tosoarch.bsky.social Executive Director, @joelleondanis.bsky.social. Special guest Councillor @lilycheng.bsky.social!
YAAAAAY! Art & Architecture Trivia Night, with @tosoarch.bsky.social, @designto.bsky.social, and the Arts & Letters Club! Looking forward to it!
Another year, another @tosoarch.bsky.social BASH! So much fun to catch up with people in such a gorgeous venue. Limberlost Place by @moriyamateshima.bsky.social and Acton Ostry was the perfect place to set off and explore when I needed a break.
Last night I hosted a special trivia night for the Architecture and Design Film Festival Toronto exploring brutalist architecture in film—perhaps one of the most unique events I've gotten to do! So much fun (and so much concrete!)
if you choose your friends well someday they may MC a brutalism x film trivia night and it will be fun (the friend in question is @joelleondanis.bsky.social and this was for ADFF + @tosoarch.bsky.social at TIFF)
Amazing talk. These cities see procurement as an opportunity: to educate the public about design; to incubate young design firms; to choose from ideas presented on a level playing field. It's a must watch for any municipality--or heck, any client that procures architecture. 👏 @tosoarch.bsky.social
Exciting and FREE panel discussion on REFORMING PROCUREMENT next Tues, Oct 14 at 12pm. Hosted by @tosoarch.bsky.social, moderated by @novakovicto.bsky.social, it features reps from New York, Montréal, & Edmonton, all cities with a track record of procuring design excellence.
View from the Toronto Society of Architects (@tosoarch.bsky.social) boat tour. A really wonderful way to spend the morning, learning about the skyline, the islands, and the Port Lands.
Incredible @tosoarch.bsky.social tour @utoronto.ca of two new landscapes: Ziibiing, & the transformation of King's College Circle. They're interrelated, & share themes, but come from deeply different approaches. Thank you designers/tour guides: KPMB + MVVA (UofT campus) Brook McIlroy (Ziibiing)
Big News! The Toronto Society of Architects is now doing architecture boat tours! I got to ride along for the first one this weekend. Details at torontosocietyofarchitects.ca/events/

Scarborough Civic Centre, Scarborough 1973, Raymond Moriyama Architect. An architectural and graphic design gem that has been (for the most part) very well preserved. The civic centre still features the old City of Scarborough logo, as well as the departmental supergraphics.
