(no income tax paid - O vote, $1-100k - 1 vote, $100-200k 2 votes and so on... cap it at 5 votes for $500k+. For those that constantly complain about the wealthy not paying tax/ fair share they'd have nothing to worry about right? Why not reward representation of taxation and build a democracy a tobi lutke Good system.

That's because "firefighter" is a specific job title with specific pay and benefits. By classifying them as Resource Technicians, the province can pay them less than they'd pay a municipal firefighter. They've been fighting for years to be reclassed as firefighters with no progress.

The next time you hear a government spokesperson thank "all the brave firefighters fighting the wildfires in northern Ontario", here's a little fact to tuck in your back pocket: By the Ontario government's own doing, they are not, in fact, "Firefighters", they are "Resource Technicians".

Riverdale Farm has two ponds in the lower valley, not far from the bridge to Riverdale Park East. Both sit where the Don River used to flow before the lower channel was straightened in the late 1880s. One has an island that used to house monkeys, and it still stands today.

Coming off of a sabbatical, I've been trying to articulate what I've been feeling about teaching in the age of LLMs. But I've come to realize that it's grief, pure and simple. The best part of my job has become the most demoralizing, and we've been abandoned by our university administrations.
