Carney carefully weaves in his shock doctrine narrative, telling us why we have to do this NOW so “we can continue to live our lives as we choose.” The implication being: no oil pipeline, no sovereignty. Which is an unhinged thing to say, actually!

Fun facts: 🔥Since 2007, BC’s climate pollution has decreased by 2.3 million tonnes. 🔥Approved LNG export projects will increase BC’s climate pollution by 21.2 million tonnes by 2035. 🔥This is ten times more pollution than we’ve managed to cut in nearly 20 years.

Trends in BC's greenhouse gas pollution from 1990 to 2023, with two projected futures. Approved LNG projects will increase BC's emissions by 21.2 million tonnes. If we meet BC's climate targets emissions will decrease by 80%. From 2007 to 2023 BC has only reduced 2 million tonnes of climate pollution.

What a lame excuse for calling an election, Eby. You had a majority. A slim one, sure. But why are you wasting taxpayer dollars and confusing voters by forcing us all to vote in municipal and provincial elections at the same time? Is it ego? Stupidity? Opportunism? globalnews.ca/news/1206910...

B.C. election ‘isn’t wanted’: Reaction pours in to David Eby’s announcement | Globalnews.ca

B.C. will hold its municipal elections on Oct. 17 and now the provincial election will be held the following Saturday, which is Oct. 24.

How do I feel about a snap election? 🤬 I think David Eby should do their freaking job and stop manoeuvring for political advantage. I am tired of politicians calling an election every time the polls swing their way. Do. Your. Job. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...

Why David Eby is considering a snap election

B.C. Premier David Eby isn’t ruling out a snap election, but why is this suddenly being discussed? And what impact could it have on local elections underway across the province? The CBC's Justin McElr...

We just sent an open letter to Premier Eby & the BC NDP signed by more than a dozen former BC-based NDP MLAs, MPs, Indigenous leaders, labour & community leaders. The letter expresses serious concerns about governmental backsliding on climate action. Read the letter: bit.ly/4vvJHfZ #bcpoli

This trade war should jolt us out of our reliance on volatile fossil fuels and accelerate our transition to clean, secure and reliable energy.

Regional wildfires have triggered a state of emergency in B.C. for the fifth time in 10 years. Meanwhile, Premier David Eby and Prime Minister Carney's policies to expand LNG exports are adding fuel to the fire with no benefit for Canadians. 🔥Read my op-ed below:

Opinion: B.C.'s wildfires and fossil fuels: We need to connect the dots

Wildfire is a public cost of climate change yet there's no provincial acknowledgment they're exacerbated by domestic fossil fuel production

A former proponent of carbon capture comparing emissions-reduction to "a vacation, or even a donation to a worthy cause that you will feel good about" tells you everything you ever needed to know about carbon capture. www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti...

Opinion: Canada should back away from carbon capture and storage and focus on infrastructure like pipelines

The time might come to build CCUS, but right now we need to focus on economic and national sovereignty
