Today, Wales votes. Whatever your politics, please take the time to vote in the Senedd election. The decisions made over the next 5 years will shape our NHS, councils, economy, infrastructure and public services for a generation.

Joining NHS Wales last year, I found it baffling having to do days of mandatory training on things unrelated to my role in digital: - how to sort clinical waste - how to evacuate patients from hospital in a fire And Welsh language awareness training as a Welsh speaker. 🥲

If you could break or change any rule to provide better public services in Wales, what would it be?

Having to send out letters for hospital appointments even when you are standing there in front of them in reception making the appointment and adding it to your calendar in real time. (This isn’t universal, I know) And then getting two identical letters in the post - but that’s another story!

The first chapter on "a better government" is v. interesting... "people centred", "open and transparent", "measurable outcomes", "test and learn" Political parties don't often focus on ways of working/culture in government.
