There’s a lot of reasons I’ve never tried to flip my fic into novels but among them is if the novel did well enough there’d for sure be people who worked to destroy me after tracking down my ~questionable morality~ fic and a few maybe bad comments and I’m exhausted in advance knowing that.

Yes we live in a society but society could be guaranteed income levels, pbs-style media entities, consumers who can afford to spend on articles w regulated ads, without giving up a savings account or idk eating. “Journalism would be better if y’all didn’t block ads!” phew think bigger, friend.

We’re dicing this up in expected ways but imo it’s garnish on the main dish—consumers with equitable access to capital spend more. We’ve run the numbers: cash flow and regulation solve the problems. Users with adblock aren’t the cause even if they’re a petty contributor. Individualized blame, again!

It’s terrible to slightly misread or get something wrong on the internet. It’s past criminal; it’s something no one else has ever done and is also unforgivable. The social fabric is torn, and you’re in a freefall. Worst thing possible I tell you.

I’ve talked about this so often with fam/friends this year. Just endless “isn’t stuff getting worse? like all stuff it’s just worse isn’t it.” And not simply shrinkflation or narrowing one production margin — it’s broad spectrum worse of nearly everything we consume.
