Jeez, the new Hellraiser game is getting youtubers' CHANNELS REMOVED. It doesn't hold back, there's some BDSM in it. Even if you blur out / carefully edit, there's a chance YT/twitch will nuke your channel. So, if u see a creator you like who has made a video/is streaming it, warn them!

for as long as i've been alive, republicans have ran the same playbook: a few weeks before voting begins, they roll out completely fabricated smear campaigns. these things are always coordinated, so the talking points take over the news. the party is never electorally punished for their dishonesty.

The exaggeration that drove critics to label minor infractions as a major cultural rot, or students protesting as akin to to Maoism, left then unable to respond to an actual authoritarian movement when it arrived. So they try to salvage their prior work by making bizarre comparisons. e.g. woke right

In other professors’ syllabi, the bot flagged the Pulitzer Prize–winning play Angels in America by Tony Kushner, essays by the Mexican American MacArthur genius grant recipient Sandra Cisneros, and materials related to a class about the Holocaust (that professor was told to drop material regarding Nazi persecution of LGBTQ people). Putting aside the ideological slant of the new rules, the bot, like many large language models, seems to “hallucinate,” or make mistakes. The AAUP lawsuit lists texts banned for their “sex-based ecofeminist framework” and “gendered ecofeminist frameworks.” These phrases might sound persuasively like academese, but the academics behind the lawsuit had never heard of them; these concepts “do not exist,” the complaint says. Matthew Pehl, a history professor at Tech, told me that he knew several people who’d received reports from the system that were “plainly written by an AI that had hallucinated content or confused content from one class to another.”

Laptop GPUs being named after desktop GPUs that are substantially more powerful than them annoys the shit out of me. Why does “GeForce RTX 5090” on a laptop mean something more akin to what “GeForce RTX 3090” means on a desktop?
