More than 11,500 people have gotten sick in the latest Cyclospora outbreak, but you don't need to give up salads. Tips to stay safe: 🥬 Buy whole heads of lettuce rather than bags of salad mix 🥬 Rinse produce under running water 🥬 Choose local when you can

tbc, I'd eat lettuce from a trustworthy garden. I'm suspicious of 'farmer's markets' at this point, I've seen too many vendors dumping, e.g., driscol berries into 'handpicked!" paper bags. But I'd buy produce from an actual local, indie farm if I trusted them. blacksky.community/profile/did:...

sowtrueseed.com/collections/... I recommend butter crunch, Paris Island romaine, and heatwave blend. Can start inside, maybe move outside in September. Maybe.

MAGA Christian Nationalist Bruce Taylor owns Taylor Farms which is causing the explosive diarrhea. This is what happens when Republicans “end regulations to help businesses” that donate to their campaigns.

Washing produce DOES NOT kill cyclospora. ONLY HEAT KILLS CYCLOSPORA. Further, Taco Bell actually pulled lettuce from their menu in advance. Taylor Farms, where the lettuce is actually from, has done nothing. Taylor Farms is one of the largest lettuce producers in the country.

This is what I have verified about Taylor Farms and this administration: 1. Bruce Taylor met with Trump on 07/16/26. 3. The FDA reversed its previous warning about Taylor Farms on 07/19/26. 4. Taylor Farms gave $1 million to Trump's PAC. I don't know when, but that's what got Taylor the meeting.

In a flurry of optimism at the Farmers’ Market, I bought some kale. Well, a lot of kale. A $h!/load of kale, as it turns out. Sorry if I offended, but I am gobsmacked. I have made two yummy dishes, but NOW WHAT? It is not disappearing. I swear it is multiplying in the frig. Is that even possible?
