I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

We really should stop calling it "age verification." Because that is not what it is. Call it "forced doxxing" instead. Most people think the concept of age verification and protecting kids online is common sense. So we must rebrand it to reveal its true purpose, which is something they will fear.

Let's talk about naming your video game! This is something I come back to with teams over and over again. Naming is really hard. A decent name is hard to find, and a bad one will really make it hard for people to remember your game. Here are some tips.

My parents were low income so I often just browsed game shops as a kid. Sometimes mum let me get a game. It'd cost her whole day's wage and a chunk of our rent. Dad once told me to check under the car seat and Pokemon Red was there in a bag. Ownership isn't the only thing we lose with physical media

A basic income program in central Iowa gave 110 people $500/mo. It caused improvements in savings, stress, and agency. It also found significant changes in scores relating to hope — the ability to create goals and feel capable of working toward them, and also increases in mattering and self-reliance
