A retired friend was remembering when there were departmental secretaries at universities who basically project managed the departments. You could give them handwritten documents, and they would type them up. He was shocked when I said it didn't work like that for female academics.

Personally, I think shitting on AI on social media is an excellent marketing move for authors. I want to engage with the work of authors who hate AI with a fiery passion. I don't want to read people who are ambivalent, or nuanced, or resigned about AI. I want the hate to leap off the fucking page

We are working on papers about Black protests 1994-2011 about worker and economic issues. Papers still in process but I produced time plots with first-pass categorizations to help us think through the work. Blog post (linked in next skeet) gives more information, graphs, and numerical tables. 1/2
The big story is that Black newspapers gave a lot of coverage to worker struggles and struggles against austerity throughout the 1990s and 2000s, and treated the attacks on public unions in 2011 as an issue important to Black people, as well as covering the later Occupy protests. 2/1
