it would be awesome if @rweingarten.bsky.social would have listened to those of us a.f.t. members who actually work with a.i. when we told her this was a bad idea and not to do it but now we have to listen to her claim that taking money from bad people to teach bad lessons is a moral imperative

“Teaching educators about AI is a ‘moral imperative’, said Randi Weingarten, the AFT president.” “And without outside funding, it was a choice between taking big tech’s money or doing nothing, she said.”

There are a lot of people in Canada who are rightly appalled by this extremely racist banner, who hold the exact same view expressed on here but about Palestinians. BC MLA Selina Robinson said essentially the same thing half a year into the genocide. (Found this foolishly scrolling through Reddit.)

A racist separatist sign in Alberta. The text reads "THE INDIANS HAVE DONE NOTHING IN OVER 100 YEARS AND NOW THEY WANNA TELL US HOW TO RUN ALBERTA"

The wording difference is obscene. Russia “knocks out power to civilians” through “energy terror”; the U.S. and Israel would merely like to “bombard energy-related targets." Like, as a little treat.
