Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

Finally trying watercolor again. Last time I used watercolor I was around 6 or 8 years old. Loving it. Got a lot to learn about color blending. I’ve got a workbook for it but also have a few ideas of stuff I want to paint on my own.

there’s something about being in VR furry spaces that changes you. you become someone who knows, personally, the radical transformative re-interpretation of the self. a self crafted by *you*, even if all you did was take an avatar and play with its sliders. it’s the you you chose.

@kentfox.bsky.social had a nightmare a few weeks back that I was broken in half outside of his house. And the sand was coming out. And it feels like that lately, with my condo unsold after two months, my job ending in two weeks. Things are tough, but I have plans and help. I will get through this.

For years we said they’re going for a genocide of trans people and for years we were told to “stop being so dramatic.” Now we’re at the point of human experimentation with the explicit goal of eradicating us. Can we call the genocide a fucking genocide now?
