Now listen buddy, I'm an engineer, that means I solve problems. Not problems like, "what is beauty" because that would fall within the confines of your pervues of philosophy.... No, I solve -practical- problems.

Ok, but two things: 3. Every citizen of Canada has the right to vote in an election of members of the House of Commons or of a legislative assembly 15. Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination

These glasses, it reminds me of a theme/character from one of the sprawl trilogy books, where the lives of rich & famous are recorded and broadcast, often from first person view. It's not all that different than walking around with a webcam on your head, but maybe a little bit more trendy and subtle

I was at the show at Market Square in #yyj #ywh Friday and was wandering around. There's a third floor that is mostly offices, the balcony along the top goes all the way around, but the south side isn't accessible, they must lock it during the weekend.

It's quite a bit larger. My province, BC is about twice the size of Texas. In Canada there are large concentrations of people in the city and vast and wide stretches where there is nothing. Some stupid thing like 90% of the population is within some sliver of range of the US border, south of Calgary

Congrats you get to hide your shittiness behind the fact that even though geographically you are larger than the US your population is barely bigger than the state of California.

I must admit that anything I've learned about this platner guy has been against my will. I hadn't even heard of the dude prior to a week ago, and learning about everything, it's like turning over a log and termites crawl out.

This reminds me of my cat Mischa. She passed a few years ago. Here is a photo of her with my dad, she would've been about 22 in this picture. My dad gave this cat cheese ONCE and ever after was mauled for food, even if he didn't have any.

Skill issue on the engineer's part. The thing with accounting is it's a solved problem, has been for 1000s of years. Accountants don't need software. A good software engineer doesn't like talking to SMEs. The good ones STFU and listen.

Me: I don't care about this Software Engineer: No, actually you do, you're just too stupid to notice you care about it A perfect encapsulation of why people don't like talking to software engineers

"ohh we'll never persist" , "we won't keep biometric" bla bla bla. No. NO! The ONLY way this works is if it is NOT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE for tech conpanies to see shit. Any "solution" that involves taking a selfie & ID is a complete non-starter. That's the godamn holy grail of your identity.

For my two cents, I think laws & regulations over online services is well overdue. The problem as I view it is every service rushes forward with the first implementation, and it'll require ID verification, and leak PII like a sieve

Does screaming into the void help? If I tell the AI robot that it's wrong, that it did the thing wrong and it should feel bad about the insufficient data sources it's been fed.

For those that need to know, I did finally beat that boss. I'm pretty sure if was a weird scaling oddity, where skills haven't been unlocked. Still, such a strange case that one of the first bosses of the game is hardest.

Turns out Diablo IV may not be for me. I played it around launch, even got a character to 100. Didn't get the first expansion. Now my buddy tells me about all the QOL improvements, how great everything is. Sure, I'll give it a shot.
